May Day Festival

This afternoon I went to the May Day Festival. To be honest, I'm still not so sure what exactly they were celebrating. But judging from the parade (in which I found some common themes like green, soil, bugs, recycle, animals, plants, and some other similar stuff), I think they were celebrating the earth, or nature in general. The parade also had representatives from various cultural groups, social activists, and political parties. Basically everyone who wanted to be a part of the parade could register to do so. So many people took part in the parade, it took more than two hours to complete the procession! (and the participants had to walk so far away too)

After the parade, the festival continued at a lake nearby. There were music playing, small theatrical puppet performances, simple acrobatic shows, and food stalls everywhere. The park was extremely crowded, to the point that there was a traffic jam (or human jam, I suppose). We were there for only a short period of time, since I wasn't feeling well to begin with (and getting crunched among hundreds of people didn't help either). It was a pretty interesting festival though, I'd like to visit again next year.

Beetle

The boar was big!

Wind power

Huge spider. It took a lot of people to carry this thing.

Tree of Life

That was made from real grass.
